Background
First aid systems are not just about compliance — they are about being ready to respond when it matters most. Aquatic facilities face unique risks that require a higher standard of preparation, equipment, and staff training. A first aid assessment gives operators confidence that their systems can meet emergencies effectively and align with the First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice.

Service Overview
Royal Life Saving’s First Aid Assessments provide an independent review of how your facility manages first aid preparedness, compliance, and response systems. Our team evaluates first aid rooms, equipment, signage, accessibility, staff training, and emergency procedures against the First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice (Safe Work Australia), relevant WHS legislation, and aquatic industry best practice.
The assessment considers the unique risks of aquatic facilities, including high patron numbers, water-related incidents, and the need for timely and effective response. Each assessment provides practical recommendations tailored to the size and type of your facility, ensuring compliance while building staff readiness and community confidence.

Benefits of the Service
A First Aid Assessment helps facilities move beyond minimum compliance to achieve best practice in first aid response and preparedness. It ensures staff, patrons, and stakeholders can have confidence that the facility is well-prepared to manage medical incidents.

Assurance that first aid equipment, facilities, and resources are appropriate and well-maintained.
