What is a Workplace Supervisor

Candidates completing Pool Lifeguard, Technical Operations, or Swim Teacher training with Royal Life Saving in NSW, the ACT, or Tasmania must complete on-the-job practical experience that is observed and verified by an approved, registered Workplace Supervisor—a quality assurance step that ensures performance meets industry standards under someone with the right skills and knowledge.

How to Become an Approved Workplace Supervisor

To become an approved Workplace Supervisor, applicants must complete a short application and training process:

  1. Apply: Complete the Workplace Supervisor Application Form (including endorsee details and signatures).

  2. Submit: Email the form and relevant qualifications/licences to nsw@royalnsw.com.au (incomplete applications will be returned unprocessed).

  3. Complete Training: A Royal Life Saving NSW staff member will send login details for the Workplace Supervisor Online Program—on completion, you’ll receive a Workplace Supervisor Certificate.
